It's hard coming up with a new style.

It really is.

I think, somehow, with growing up and getting more and more into the "art world", it took something from me. Or maybe I've just lost it. Somewhere along the way, my ability to draw slipped through my fingers. I wasn't the best artist, but I drew without reserve. I drew all the time, anywhere, any place. Didn't matter what it was, how good it looked; I didn't care, I just wanted to draw whatever came to mind. And now, you'd be hard pressed to find me even doing a doodle on a napkin with a crayon.

It's depressing really. Or at least it would be, if I hadn't pushed those feelings aside. But I won't lie and say I don't feel a little angry at myself for this; I want to find "it". Whatever "it" was. I want to get back what I lost, whatever it was that made me draw carefree, made me draw continuously, outcome be damned. 

I think it has a lot to do with me becoming aware of my art, aware in a way that points out to me all the little(or big in my case) things that are just incorrect in my art. Things like: "That finger looks crooked.", "Legs are too long.", "Ugh, that hair is terrible.", to say the least.

I find my self criticizing every little thing I do; I am my own worst enemy.

Recognizing my faults and striving to overcome them is one thing, nit picking is another. I hope I can shrug this off sooner or later, before I don't want to draw at all any more.

It's about damned time.

Anyway, I'm still drawin', just not updating enough. I'll try to get back into the habit of that. Working on my website at the moment, trying to make it seem professional and all that. We'll see.

Been drawing with my art buddy, who for some reason doesn't ever update his sketchblog, with, you know, sketches. But we'll work on that. *glares his way*... We have an idea for a story we're trying to set up now, and I guess we'll see how that goes too.

A WHOLE MONTH

Wow, looks like I haven't posted anything for almost a solid month. I'm ashamed of myself seeing as I made this sketchblog to try to keep myself drawing. Oh well, no excuses. I have some new stuff and some old stuff.

Posting these as is, seeing as a good majority will never be finished. Maybe later, I'll come back to them, but for now, not really thinking I will. This is just a sketchblog, anyway.

And this little guy is the star of one of my soon to hopefully be finished, sci-fi story. Also, the first time I've digitally inked anything sans the Pen Tool. I don't usually ink digitally, but I gave it a go and I think it came out kind of good. This was already a coloured and finished piece, but I stripped it of that to toss it up here, when I realized I never posted it.

Sunday Morning

There we go. That took forever! But I'm very proud of it, really.

This is totally me when I wake up in the morning. Only with more clothes, and fatter, haha.

Anyway, I just practiced this a few minutes ago. Trying to brush up some anatomy, where I really need the help, and this just popped into mind.

I was reading an anatomy tutorial last night that I think really helped. It didn't so much tell me how to draw, it told me that I already know how, and just need to refine it. And it's true. We all know what the human body looks like. Putting it to paper isn't that hard. Proof is in the pudding. Yeah my drawing could be polished up a bit, but that's what I drew after reading that.

I know what humans look like, I know how we bend, how we move. I don't need to fight myself when putting them to paper. It's tough, but not that hard, and it will take practice to make it look right, and I know that.

I can do this.

I fucking love that show. And I know, his stick thingy is too big. But, to be honest, this wasn't even supposed to be a real drawing, it was a doodle near the coil in my sketchbook, and it came out awesome, so I fixed it up a bit.

Most of my crappy doodles end up becoming some of my "good" pieces.

CAD didn't go so well today, I couldn't really produce a drawing. Had some severe art block. But I do have a sketch for today:

Meet Clef. I have no idea what or who he is. This was originally a sketch that I was drawing a few months back to gain some experience with perspective. It failed, to be honest. But, I went back to it anyway with a fresh outlook on it in hopes I could turn it into at least, something. Which I did, and I'm glad. I don't know much about him, those wings are different, but he is no angel, I don't even know if he can fly with those things.

I do know, however, that he fights with music. A swing of his spear creates beautiful and/or deadly melodies to the humanoid ear. He's quick, and fast, using said music to dumbfound his opponent before striking with deadly accuracy. As expected, right? Ah well. maybe something else will come out of it at another time.

Anyway. Deviant Art. I'm... kind of tired of this place. I don't know why, but really I am. But besides my own website, there's not much else I can put my work on to try and get it out there. I dunno, I think I'm just getting iritated with all of the people on there. It's the 4chan of the art world, in my opinion.  Oh well.

She's very cute. I got some inspiration and quickly jotted it down. I like it a lot, to be honest. There's a lot of things wrong with it, but I think it's a nice step in the right direction, hopefully. 

The only thing that irritates me, is that for some reason, as I drew this, I drew her with four fingers. Now, it doesn't look bad to me, but I don't normally do that, and I don't know why I did it this time. Oh well. No use crying over spilled milk.

Just some doodles I did a little while ago. I haven't actually drawn too much. However, there is a really big piece, for me anyway, that I'm working on that I should have up soon.

But at least not for another two weeks. I'm going to be out of town. I might work on it, or not, I haven't decided, but until then, no new art pieces. Maybe I'll take a picture with my phone of some doodles I do on the plane, or somethin'.

She's just fucking adorable, isn't she? I think so. Love her, her name is Lyla. I drew her once before, and named her that then. Everyone always draws catgirls, or foxgirls, but you never see any cute little mousegirls. Well, I expect to change this.

Dunno what I'm gonna do with her though.

I guess just keep drawing her all cute like, I suppose.

This is Kirabo, she's a young woman soon to be married to her husband whom she has known since they were children. She's contemplating life before and now future as she waits while her family prepares.

Or at least that's the bullshit story I just made up for her; though Kirabo is her name.

Yeah, so I was over at posemanics last night and saw a pose that vaguely reminded me of Superman. Though I did change a bit of the pose, like his face and what not.

I got it down okay, some parts aren't quite right, but I'd say it's a nice improvement over my other stuff, which I'm proud of. And no, I didn't hide his hand on purpose as a means to not draw it; it was like that in the pose!

'Ey, bub...

So I drew this last night while I was hangin' with some friends at our local Barnes & Noble. We usually hang out on Sunday nights for a couple hours and draw.

Unfortunately much drawing did not get done that night seeing as we all had our respective downs. Oh well, I did manage to churn this little thing out. I'm not very good at drawing other peoples characters, but this one came out kinda okay. Better than nothing.

Too many ideas man.

Yeah so, of course, I've had another idea for a comic. Probably won't act on it; already trying to run too many as it is. We'll see though, seeing as it is really a "real" comic, per se. Oh well. Here's some concept art I drew for it already. Nothing special. It's just me, and I tried a (sort of) new style.

So last night(this morning), Kytri and I were talking(IMing) and we started on about video games.

She mentioned her favourite character from the Phoenix Wright series, was Miles Edgeworth; mine just happens to be the titular character. So, in my head flashed an idea. So I drew it. It's not coloured or anything, I'll get to that later.

But for now enjoy it for what it's worth. As you damn well better.

I started this new blog, figured why the hell not. I'll leave all my emotional turmoil bullshit for my LJ which I hardly use because to be honest, I figure that's all it's good for.

So I ponied up and re-logged into my blogger and said fuck it. This place is gonna be about my art and shit. Maybe some stuff I find interesting too, if you're so inclined to follow me or whatever. Anyway, I don't have any art to post right now. It's 5am and I should be in bed.
